On Perspective of the Functional Approach in the Research of Musical Stylistics

Abstract

The article presents a research of musical stylistics in the context of the general theory of style. This phenomenon is considered in view of the functional approach, which implies an analysis of internal functional relations of elements and the manner of their interaction. To a large extent, this approach follows the traditions of Russian musicology: the author leans on provisions stated by Boris Asaf’yev, Mikhail Mikhaylov, Yekaterina Ruch’yevskaya, Sergey Skrebkov and other musicologists.
