The practical targeting of the subject of Polyphony as a topical problem of music teaching in the 21st century

The problem or correlation between the practical and theoretical contents of Polyphony as an educational subject is considered in the article. A new concept of the subject, into which polyphonic music from the 9th through the 21st centuries is included, has made the requirements for practical assignments on polyphony switch to the modeling of historical styles according to the general thematic plan of the educational subject. The author stresses that a new type of textbooks on polyphony need to be written and published in the near future.
