The Events of the Year 1917 in the Rimsky-Korsakov Family Correspondence

Abstract
In this article the events of the year 1917 are described on the basis of unpublished letters of the family of N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov of this and subsequent years. There are much handwritten materials in the Cabinet of manuscripts of the Russian Institute of the history of art; they contain information about the problems of the study of creativity of the composer and financial and material status of his heirs. The article mainly used documents of the second son of the composer, the well-known musicologist, philosopher A. N. Rimsky-Korsakov. His letters to officials and foreign correspondents contain important information about the family, and other Russian intelligentsia, which appeared in the situation of some of the representatives proved to be abroad, and the other continued to live and work in new conditions. On the one hand, the works of the composer and the studies on it and the New Russian school composers continued to intensively be publishing, on the other hand, they are in accordance with the requirements of the time had to be represented in the new ideology.
