The Paradoxes of Rhythm in the Musical Form

ISSN 2308-1333

Abstract
Rhythm in music, covering different sides of the musical form, reveals paradoxical properties, antithetical to its value as the time order. The principle of disorder, named in the article «chthonic» (Losev A.F.), being differently embodied in the art in the past and especially in the present, stipulates for non-synchronized changes-events on different levels of musical form hierarchy (Ruchevskaya E). Embodied in different ways in the art of the past and the present, manifestation of the chthonic rhythm not exhausted by the methods images of chaos or separate ways temporal organization (irregularity, polimetry etc.). Continuous interaction of diverse rhythmic processes in the form leads to contradictions and contrasts of discreteness and continuity, to incommensurability and accent heterogeneity of rhythmic units. Chthonic principle can be regarded as an attribute of rhythm at all, in conjunction with legitimate ordering expressing spontaneous, emotional increased and heuristic basis of musical art.
